Story Development Coordinator

Story Organization · Editorial Coordination · Production Preparation

Department: Story Development

Reports To: Investigative Story Developer & Founder / Creative Director

Employment Type: Collaborator / Contractor / Long-Term Growth Opportunity

Position Overview

Every production begins as an idea.

Some ideas become conversations.

Some become research.

Some become notes scattered across notebooks, voice memos, and brainstorming sessions.

The Story Development Coordinator helps transform those pieces into organized productions.

Working alongside the Investigative Story Developer and the Founder, this role ensures that story development remains structured, documented, and ready to move toward production.

If the Investigative Story Developer is the detective asking difficult questions, the Story Development Coordinator keeps the case organized, documents every discovery, and prepares the file so the production team can confidently move forward.

Your Mission

Bring order to creativity.

Your responsibility is to organize ideas without limiting them.

You will help transform conversations into outlines.

Research into reports.

Scripts into production packets.

Character ideas into profiles.

Story meetings into actionable next steps.

You help ensure that valuable ideas are never lost simply because nobody wrote them down.

The Role

This is a creative support position, but not in the traditional sense.

You are not making coffee.

You are not managing calendars.

You are helping organize the creative foundation of original productions.

During a brainstorming session you might:

• Record important discussions.

• Capture unexpected ideas.

• Build organized meeting summaries.

• Track unanswered questions.

• Update story outlines.

• Prepare scene breakdowns.

• Assemble research documents.

• Maintain production continuity.

Your work allows the Investigative Story Developer to remain focused on asking difficult questions while ensuring the development process continues moving forward.

Your Responsibilities

• Organize brainstorming sessions into structured documents.

• Prepare written storyboards from conversations and scripts.

• Maintain story outlines and production notes.

• Track revisions between drafts.

• Build character and location profiles.

• Maintain continuity documents.

• Prepare meeting summaries.

• Organize legal and research references.

• Assemble production packets before filming.

• Help preserve unused ideas for future productions.

• Coordinate documentation between writers, researchers, and production collaborators.

• Ensure story development remains organized throughout the life of a project.

Productions You May Support

• Barely-Said

• Squeezed

• Original narrative films

• Documentary development

• Cinematic short stories

• Podcast planning

• Monologue production

• Comedy sketches

• Educational productions

Working Relationship

The Story Development Coordinator works closely with the Investigative Story Developer.

Think of the relationship as a detective and case coordinator.

The Investigative Story Developer investigates ideas, asks difficult questions, and develops stronger stories.

The Story Development Coordinator ensures those discoveries become usable documents that move productions forward.

Neither role replaces the other.

Together they form the studio's story development department.

Ideal Qualities

We're looking for someone who:

• Enjoys organizing complex information.

• Thinks logically without losing creativity.

• Notices missing details.

• Appreciates clear documentation.

• Communicates well with creative people.

• Enjoys collaborating behind the scenes.

• Can balance structure with flexibility.

• Understands that creativity often arrives in unfinished pieces.

• Helps others stay organized without becoming controlling.

Nude-Friendly Environment

Some productions at Pytormal Studios explore naturism, body image, and nonsexual nudity.

Applicants should be comfortable working within a respectful, nude-friendly creative culture.

Participation in clothing-optional environments is never required.

Respect, professionalism, and clear communication are.

Growth Opportunities

As Pytormal Studios expands, this role may evolve into positions such as:

• Editorial Coordinator

• Story Department Coordinator

• Production Development Coordinator

• Story Development Manager

• Editorial Operations Lead

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping ideas become organized enough to produce.

You may never receive screen credit for asking the biggest question.

But you may become the reason an entire production stayed organized from its first conversation to its final script.

Success Looks Like

Success isn't measured by how many documents you create.

It's measured by how smoothly a production moves because the right information was available at the right time.

You help transform creative chaos into creative momentum.

That momentum allows the studio to keep producing original work without losing the ideas that made it worth creating in the first place.
